Cafe Manager Rebecca and Head Chef Joe have over thirty years of experience in various sectors of the hospitality industry between them. They are excited to be serving freshly ground barista coffee - specially roasted for Hamish’s Café - plus a selection of Gin, Wines, local Ales and non-alcoholic beverages, alongside delicious, British seasonal breakfast and lunch menus. From traditional breakfasts to sandwiches and refined lunch dishes, all food is freshly cooked using the best local produce available. The varied menu includes hot smoked salmon and smoked brisket pastrami; all smoked locally in Rimington by Head Chef, Joe Campbell and Engineer/Chef Daniel Buckle of Baron Smokers. Baron Smokers produce is also available to buy from the café, year round.

Converting the historic and long established Moorcock Inn to a country Cafe has been done with the care and consideration this 1700’s building deserves. With the original wooden beams exposed and a state of the art wood burning stove from Ashburn Heating & Stoves, the cafe’s decor combines homely countryside cafe, with a bright, modern interior. Outside seating to the rear and side of the café provides visitors the opportunity to enjoy their delicious food and drink whilst overlooking stunning views of the Pendle countryside.

 

Hamish’s Cafe is a tribute to cult, Scottish folk artist Hamish Imlach, whose daughter, Fiona co-owns the cafe alongside her partner Bruce. Born in Calcutta, India, to Glaswegian parents on the precipice of WW2, Hamish moved back to Glasgow as a boy and emerged into an incredibly talented songwriter who influenced the likes of John Martyn, Billy Connolly and Christy Moore. The cafe will host live music throughout the year, so be sure to follow them on social media to stay up to date! 

 

Hamish’s Café’s parent business is Ashburn Stoves and Heating - formed seven years ago by Bruce & Fiona. Ashburn aims to supply the very best in energy efficient and environmentally friendly heat pumps, stoves and other heating solutions available in Europe. The showroom is attached to the cafe and is open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.
