Spring into sustainable fashion
New ranges for spring and summer are available now online at From The Source, with the shop due to re-open in April. Once restrictions are eased, going out to experience shopping in independent stores will certainly be something many of us are keen to do, and this beautiful shop has a great offering of original and unique products. Although the shop does offer many of the products on their website, being able to browse and see the ranges in store is a much more fun experience!
From The Source has promoted ethical brands and sold fashion made from sustainable fabrics for many years now, and being able to touch and feel the clothing makes a massive difference. Among the styles is a brand new collection of sustainable denim by Thought, which has been made to ensure a high standard of ethical production throughout the supply chain.
Jeans certainly aren’t going out of fashion any time soon! However,standard denim production has a wide range of ethical and environmental concerns. The cotton used in denim uses very high volumes of water and energy to produce, plus chemical pesticides and herbicides used in growing cotton cause widespread pollution and contamination. The new range of denim by Thought has been manufactured usingsustainable processes that reduce water consumption by nearly 70%, use vastly less energy, and are made using organic cotton. They also use an innovative new method of “eco-stone” to distress the fabrics, which avoids the dust and pollution caused by sandblasting or pumice methods used in standard denim production.
Alongside the new denim are gorgeous new dresses, jumpsuits and summer trousers, and plenty of comfy wardrobe staples made from organic cotton and bamboo –perfect for relaxing in. Plus,a wide range of silver jewellery and accessories that make beautiful,original giftsfor a loved one or a specialtreat for yourself.
Having local, independent shops that can offer the experience of buying quality products that last well and are made sustainably is really something to look forward to as restrictions are eased and we are able to go out and get our “retail therapy” in person again.
