Anchor Logs Ltd.

The LOVE
of Logs

Founded by Paul and Debbie Barker, Anchor Logs is as a family business selling ‘Ready to Burn’ Kiln Dried logs from their farm in Gargrave. The rise in popularity of wood burning stoves has resulted in an increased demand for fuel and led to ongoing organic growth of the business. Their success is built on two fundamental principles: supplying the best quality product and providing outstanding customer service.

Anchor Logs offers free delivery to addresses within a thirty-mile radius. The fleet of five vehicles aim to fulfil delivery within four working days of the order being placed, but this can often be sooner.

If preferred, customers are most welcome to collect orders themselves and payments can be made via credit/debit cards.

The freshly cut green round wood is processed on site, the wood is split, cut into logs and dried in the Drying Kiln, powered by biomass boilers. Anchor Logs also supply kindling, smokeless coal and an array of log stores which are all available to view on online at www.anchorlogs.co.uk

As the business continues to grow, Anchor Logs is certified with the trusted Woodsure Ready to Burn accreditation – the UK’s only wood fuel supplier quality assurance scheme, guaranteeing reliable, high quality wood fuels. Anchor Logs is also on the certified Biomass Suppliers List.

Wood energy is both sustainable, when derived from conscientiously managed woodland situations, and low-carbon, with new tree growth absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere equivalent to that used when burning wood fuel. It's a virtuous cycle that can benefit the health and future of UK woodlands. Being a certified member of the Woodsure Ready to Burn Scheme shows Anchor Logs commitment to responsible, sustainable woodland management practices, and making sure their customers receive only the highest quality products.

Woodsure is a wholly-owned subsidiary of HETAS and both organisations support cleaner and safer choices for the use of biomass and other solid fuels, appliances and associated technologies. This is achieved by working with the government and industry, certifying fuels, appliances and qualified people for safety and to reduce environmental impact.

Woodsure, strives to raise the quality of woodfuel in the industry, and has welcomed the government’s publication of draft regulations for the Air Quality Domestic Solid Fuels Standards in England. The draft legislation, which now passes to the Houses of Parliament for debate and amendment, will phase out the supply of smaller volumes of wet wood, in measures designed to reduce the environmental impact of domestic burning associated with the use of wood-burning stoves.
